Caller Custom RingTone
Subscribers can customize the standard ring tone as hold music -- callers hear the
music before the call is connected.
What is the Ringback Tone?
The Caller Ringback Tone is simply the standard ring tone that callers hear before
getting connected to a subscriber. In a standard wireless or wireline networks, i.e.
not equipped with the CRBT service, the Ringback Tone is simply the standard ring
tone and it cannot be modified or replaced.
Generation and provisioning of Ringback Tones
Ringback Tones are generated by gently mixing the standard ring tone over music or
audio clips pre-selected by the operator. Any audio file in .wav format is
supported. The Ringback Tones are typically generated off-line and then provisioned
into the RBT telecom platform.
Selection and activation of Caller Ringback Tones
Similar to popular mobile ring tones and logos portals, once generated the Ringback
Tones are published on the operator's web portal allowing subscribers to listen and
identify their preferred Ringback Tone. To activate it, the subscriber simply sends
an SMS containing the product code of the selected Ringback Tone to a toll number.
Support of 3rd party Content Provider
The success of the RBT service comes often with supporting a link to 3rd party
content providers so customization becomes virtually limitless! The content
providers together with audio copywriters form the value chain.
Dedicated Caller Ringback Tones
The subscriber has the freedom to dedicate a different Ringback Tone to each of its
callers. So Ringback Tone use is only limited by one's lack of subscriber's
imagination!
